Cooking, cooking and cooking

I had been cooking, cooking and cooking like crazy the two weeks before I had total knee replacement surgery on August 11.  I wanted to have blogs ready to publish during the time that I wouldn’t be able to cook.  In those couple weeks I made Sicilian Saint Lucia’s Wheat with Sicilian Cream, my mother’s Authentic Sicilian Stuffed Potato and Onion Pizza, pictured above, my version of Sicilian Pasta Fazuli, and my mother’s recipe for Sicilian Pasta Fazuli.  I also made Sicilian Baked Macaroni, which I keep making because I love it so much!!!  I was busy! Everything came out great and I am working on my blog, getting the recipes perfected to share with you!  My friends are getting to experience my food!  I can’t eat everything that I am making! My recipes are for a family of 4 or 5.

When I came home from the hospital within a week of my surgery, I was in pain and not able to even think about my blog but I worried about not putting anything on for you to read. Only this past week, 4 weeks after my surgery, did I finally post a new blog.  Now I am recovering from my surgery, going to physical therapy twice a week probably forever, but I am feeling well enough to work on my blog again!  And I can’t drive yet.  Now that is difficult!  Thanks for hanging in there with me!  I have a lot of new stuff to share with you!

When I started my blog my goal was to publish my cookbook in one year.  Realizing that I started my blog in February, 2015, and that February, 2016 will be here soon, I have to start the process of publishing my cook book very soon. I have so many ideas! I have been sharing many recipes in my blog but others will only be in my cookbook.  All of my recipes will be available to you when my cookbook is completed!

I hope you will continue to follow my blog!  Share my blog with your friends and family!  Cook some of the recipes for your friends and family!  Write to me in the comments section on the bottom of my blog entries!

In my blog, on the right side there are 2 places to sign up.  The top sign-up area will give you 4 additional recipes to download and the bottom sign-up will notify you by e-mail when I post a new blog.  Please sign up for both!

I hope that you are excited about my cookbook.  I am very excited!

Thank you for reading my blog!

  1. I have experienced the preparation and joy of eating Maria’s Wheat and Cream and it is very easy to prepare and wonderful to eat. Once I start, I cant stop eating it!

  2. All this looks so good!! I’m afraid I’ll weigh 400 lbs. by the time this is over!! LOL Glad to hear you are on the mend, I have been worried about you!!

    • Pat,
With all my cooking and baking to create the recipes with ingredients and directions, I managed to gain 30 pounds last year! Eeeekkkkkk!!!
I have lost 8 so far, since my knee replacement surgery, and have a little more to lose. I haven’t been able to bake and I think I have been eating healthier. I make stuffed peppers and have them in the freezer for a delicious special meal. They are pretty healthy in themselves. I also have baked macaroni in the freezer. Delicious and quick to warm up in the microwave! Yuuuummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…

    • Pat,
I am so glad that you are reading my blog! Thank you!!! Have you read our family stories that I’ve put on here? I have a lot more to share in the upcoming months! But, I am still trying to learn more information about the Indelis, as you call us! That’s cute!
